Roto Artist

Experiance: (1–4 Years Experience)

Location: Onsite or Remote engagement based on production requirements

Department: Roto & Prep

Reports To: Roto Lead / VFX Supervisor

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of professional roto/paint experience in a VFX production environment
  • Strong proficiency in rotoscoping and paint tools such as:
    • Silhouette
    • Nuke (Roto/ RotoPaint nodes)
  • Solid understanding of edge control, motion blur, and roto shapes
  • Ability to produce clean, accurate mattes on complex and high-resolution plates
  • Good sense of object occlusion, perspective, and parallax
  • Comfortable working with multi-layered plates and overlapping elements
  • Ability to interpret frame sequences, track movement, and maintain consistency
  • Basic understanding of alpha channels, keying artifacts, and compositing needs
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote/cloud pipeline
  • Attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet project deadlines

Paint / Prep Artist

Experience: (2–4 Years Experience)

Location: Onsite or Remote engagement based on production requirements

Department: Paint/Prep

Reports To: Prep Lead / VFX Supervisor

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in paint and prep within a VFX production environment
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • Nuke (RotoPaint, Clone, Denoise, Grain tools)
    • Silhouette Paint
    • Adobe Photoshop (for texture reference and patch work)
  • Ability to perform:
    • Wire removal
    • Rig removal
    • Marker cleanup
    • Patch fixes
    • Beauty work and blemish removal
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Clean plate creation
    • Frame-by-frame paint work
    • Grain management and matching
    • Edge integration and seamless patch blending
  • Strong eye for detail, texture consistency, and natural restoration
  • Good understanding of:
    • Motion blur
    • Parallax
    • Perspective distortion
    • Light continuity across frames
  • Ability to work with high-resolution plates and multi-layer EXR files
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight production deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, cloud-based production pipeline

Preferred (Bonus Skills)

  • Basic compositing knowledge
  • Experience with tracking tools (3D tracking workflows)
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation workflows
  • Understanding of ACES color pipeline and OpenColorIO (OCIO) workflows
  • Knowledge of linear workflow, LUT management, and color space conversions

Compositing Artist

Experience: (2–4 Years Experience)

Location: Onsite or Remote, depending on project requirements

Department: Compositing

Reports To: Comp Lead/Supervisor and VFX Supervisor

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of professional compositing experience in a VFX production environment
  • Strong proficiency in Nuke (node-based compositing workflow)
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Multi-pass compositing
    • AOV integration
    • CG integration into live-action plates
    • Matte extraction and edge refinement
  • Experience working with:
    • 2D & 3D compositing workflows
    • Deep compositing (preferred)
    • Multi-layer EXR files
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Light interaction and realism
    • Shadows, reflections, atmospherics
    • Color correction and look development
  • Working knowledge of ACES color management and OpenColorIO (OCIO) workflows
  • Strong understanding of linear workflow, LUT management, and color space conversions
  • Ability to integrate:
    • Green/blue screen elements
    • Roto and prep elements
    • 3D renders into live-action footage
  • Solid understanding of tracking data (2D/3D camera tracking integration)
  • Strong attention to detail, continuity, and shot consistency
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high visual standards
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a structured production pipeline

Preferred (Bonus Skills)

  • Experience with deep compositing workflows
  • Basic Python scripting knowledge for Nuke
  • Familiarity with render engines (Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift)
  • Experience in film, television, OTT, or commercial production pipelines
